More Defined Direction

During Advising Week I sat with an Adviser and worked up an academic plan for an AAS in Networking Technologies at Harry S. Truman College. I told the Adviser that I was going to double in Emergency Management which is offered at Wilbur Wright College. However, upon further reflection I decided that I would earn my AAS in Emergency Management, and Advanced Certificate in Networking Systems and Technologies and a Basic Certificate in Competer Security and Forensic Investigation. I must meet with an academic adviser at Wright to set an academic plan and update my academic plan at Truman so that I am earning an AC instead of an AAS.

Sandy’s Direction

I have been closely following the coverage of Suprestorm Sandy’s destructive visit to the US east coast. I really wanted to go there and help cleanup, however I currently have no skills in this area. I have done some research and plan to take the CERT Basic Training Course offered through the Chicago CERT. The Training materials for the course can be found online here. I also will complete a CPR certification course through the Greater Chicago Red Cross chapter or within an A.A.S. degree in Emergency Management at Wilbur Wright College.

This changes my original double major to Network Technologies/Emergency Management.
